First off, yes, I know that the VS Setup Projects are evil. It's what I have to work with. I've also seen several related questions, but they either go unanswered or they don't match my situation close enough for the answer to work (or they harp on about the evils of VS Setup Projects and the marvels of WiX).
I tried installing my service withC:WindowsMicrosoft.NetFramwork4.0.30319InstallUtil.exe c:pathbinreleasemyservice.exe
![.installstate .installstate](/uploads/1/2/6/2/126229485/519660458.png)
my last attempt seemed to do something.. It went to the Dos area and I saw code scrolling by that showed it found the InstallUtil, and was also working on myservice..
But the service does not show up under the list of installed programs.. More important where I really want it to display is when I go to the scheduled Task Add Scheduled Task as a program I can add..
![Error 1001 could not find file .installstate Error 1001 could not find file .installstate](http://www.ps4news.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Tekken-7-Bild-8.jpg)
What might I try to figure out what I am doing wrong?
